M. G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman, authors of the bestselling Adventures on Trains series invite your school to join them for a fun, educational and engaging event, live from The Theatre Royal Brighton on Monday 28th February to celebrate World Book Week, and the publication of the fifth book in the series, Sabotage on the Solar Express.
Fresh from winning the 2021 Children’s Book of the Year at the British Book Awards for the first in the Trains series The Highland Falcon Thief, Maya and Sam will be performing an hour-long author event for school groups on the main stage of the Theatre Royal Brighton at 10am and 1pm, with very special guest, the series illustrator Elisa Paganelli, who will be live drawing during the event.
This special event will be packed with interesting facts about trains, the science of steam power, railways of the world, mystery stories and how to be a good detective.
Maya and Sam will share their adventures writing together, how they create their books and their passion for the wonderful world of railways, invite the audience to create a live mystery story and give a dramatic reading from the newest adventure, Sabotage on the Solar Express.
In Sabotage on the Solar Express, Hal and Nat travel to the Australian outback, to ride on a prototype hydrogen-fueled train, unaware that they’re in for or a fast-paced, action-packed thrill ride!
There will be a question-and-answer session at the end, an opportunity to meet Maya, Sam and Elisa and get a book signed, as well as an exclusive teaser about the sixth book, coming in October 2022!
At the end of the event M. G. Leonard, Sam Sedgman and Elisa Paganelli will be in the foyer signing books and meeting young readers.
